Possession dates rarely line up. You’re out on the 28th and in on the 3rd, or you’ve sold quickly and haven’t bought yet. The alternative (a hotel, a second truck booking and a self-storage unit you load yourself twice) costs more and takes two weekends.

We load your home once, store it in a secure monitored facility, and deliver when your new place is ready. Three days or three months, the process is the same. Because one crew handles loading, storage and final delivery, nothing is double-handled by strangers and nothing falls between two companies’ responsibilities.

Heated units hold above freezing and suit most household goods. Climate-controlled units hold temperature and humidity stable, and are what you want for pianos, solid-wood and veneered furniture, artwork, photographs, leather and electronics. The freeze-thaw cycle is the actual risk in Calgary, not the cold itself. Repeated expansion and contraction is what splits wood joints and lifts veneer.

Rough sizing: a 5×10 unit holds a one-bedroom, 10×10 a two-bedroom, 10×15 a three-bedroom house, 10×20 a four-bedroom. Rather than guessing, describe your home when you request a quote and we’ll size it from the inventory. Undersizing is the costly mistake. Everything is inventoried before it goes in, padded, wrapped and stacked on its strongest points, not tossed in a unit.

The improvised version is expensive: you rent a self-storage unit, hire movers to load into it, then hire movers again to load out of it. You pay for the same furniture to be carried four times instead of two, plus a month’s minimum rent for five days of use.

Our storage is heated and climate-controlled, which for a Calgary winter is the difference between collecting your furniture and collecting a claim. If you are comparing quotes, ask specifically whether the facility is heated, and ask what temperature range it holds. Plenty of cheap Calgary storage is a metal container on a gravel lot, which is fine for garden tools and genuinely risky for a household.

A short note on what we cannot store: anything flammable or perishable, which includes propane, gasoline, paint thinners and food. That is an insurance condition, not a preference, and it applies at every legitimate facility.
